Goals: Students will build the online community so that it becomes a non-threatening environment where students can feel comfortable, participate and interact.
Step 1. Reading digital profiles: Students will read each other’s digital profiles on the Google+Community.
Step 2. Play an interactive game so that students can learn some interesting facts about their foreign partners’ country and institution.
Step 3. Forming Telecolaboration groupings: Students will get grouped together based on their common interests or placement test results.
Step 4. Introductions and oce-breaking questions: Post and respond to ice-breaking questions on the Google-Community.
Step 5. Personal introductory videos: Students will have to create and upload their personal introductory video on the Google+community and comment on the videos posted by their partners (home activity)
Step 6. First synchronous oral exchange: Students will meet with their telecollaborative partners for approximately 20 minutes at Google+Hangouts (home activity). During this conversation, students will discuss the ice-breaking questions and personal introductory videos (the interactive game)
Step 7. Reflections about their first synchronous oral exchange: Students will have to write a personal reflection about their first personal synchronous oral exchange (400-500 words approx.) |

Suggested assessment criteria: Completion of task Participation in the Google+ Community, including number of posts, length and quality of interactions.
Language/Communication skills (written skills from the reflections and forum, and oral skills from the introductory videos and synchronous exchange)
Recommended tools: Google + or any other platforms which facilitates group interaction
Interactive game
Videoconferencing tools for synchronous online oral exchanges.
Moodle tasks will be used for the written reflection activity.
