STAGE 4.3: Social entrepreneurship collaborative artefact construction 2: Presenting your new product, service or app and in the form of elevator pitches

Stage 4.3 Overview:

In this stage you will receive the instructions needed to complete the steps of the 4.3 stage of the YES project: preparing, delivering and as-sessing their elevator pitches.

Dates: Weeks 8, 9 and 10 from __________ to __________
Deadlines elevator pitches: preparing visual resources for the elevator pitches: End of Week 8; delivery of elevator pitches: End of Week 9; assessing elevator pitches: End of Week 10.

 

Theme & goals: Collaborative preparation and delivery of elevator pitches about the product/service/app developed collaboratively with their foreign partners for the development of communicative skills, presentation skills, effectively reaching an audience, and familiarisation with the structure, contents and purpose of a business entrepreneurial presentation.
Step 1. Preparing and rehearsing your elevator pitches:

 

In your local groups, start preparing for a business entrepreneurial presentation of your digital story. On your group’s shared folder, open a New Google Slides and prepare your elevator pitch. You will be allowed one week to prepare and rehearse your pitches.

The deadline for completing the visuals for your elevator pitch is: End of Week 8.

Step 2. Delivering your elevator pitches.

 

In your local groups, showcase your digital story in a 10-minute elevator pitch. Each group member should talk for about 2-3 minutes. All groups will fill the presentation assessment sheet (Annex II) and vote for the best presentation.

Elevator pitches will be delivered on: Week 9.

Step 3. Announcing  the winners! The best digital stories and the best elevator pitches will be awarded prizes in the award ceremony.

Teacher’s notes (4.3- Social entrepreneurship collaborative artefact construction 2: Elevator pitches)
Step 1 T facilitates the students’ preparation and delivery of their elevator pitches about the product/service/app developed collaboratively with their foreign partners, and asks students to choose a date and time slot for the delivery of their pitches.
Step 2 Tells students to note their ideas on a New Google Slides document and allots one in-class session for the preparation and rehearsal of their pitches.
Step 3 Assesses the students’ pitch by using the oral presentation’s assessment rubric.
Possible challenges Difficulty with delivering elevator pitches due to public speaking anxiety issues.
