STAGE 2: Information search and agreement on main RIs

 

Dates: Weeks 2-3, from __________ to _________

 

Deadline: End of Week 3.

 
Goals: Reflect on main relational identities (RIs) in day-to-day personal, social and professional communication, selecting in group the most significant on each of these tree levels in current communication, and agreeing on the preferred terms (TRIs) to refer to these RIs.  
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:  
Step 1. Sharing personal reflexions on RIs Students exchange their personal opinions on the most significant interpersonal identities on the 3 levels, both in their lives (from their own experiences) and in current global communication (e.g. street, media, workplace, Internet, etc.). The coordinator encourages all participants to share their views and the controller/s collect/s the essential information to achieve the objectives of each step and to deliver at the end the joint evaluative task.   
     
Step 2. Reaching agreement on TRIs Students trying to reach an agreement on the most common or appropriate terms used to name the most significant RIs, considering different linguistic options to refer to them (e.g. synonyms, shortenings, nicknames, etc.)

 

 
Step 3. Creation of joint classification Students create a table with the classification of the most significant RIs/TRIs for the group, on the three communicative levels and indicating their degree of relevance and frequency on a high-medium-low scale.  
     
                 

 

Step 4. Delivery of partial results (optional) Students deliver this partial evaluative task (i.e. joint table) to the teacher, if it is considered appropriate.
